Default fish finder for 2 man boat?

only boat i have is a 2 man boat. went in gander mtn. and saw a fish finder that's called "the fishing buddy." is this thing worth the money? looked on the internet and saw that they read at a 60 degree angle. claim to be good for docks and small boats. didn't know if they were worth considering. seem kinda gimmicky. any advice is appreciated.

    Default eagle cuda 168

A very inexpensive and easy to use depth finder I use for crappie is the eagle cuda 168 and you can get it at walmart for 74.99 or gander mtn i think for 69.99. Shows depth, temp, and decent sonar. I particularly dont like the ones like you are talking about because it seems they are made cheaper and i really dont trust the bottom readings

I have an eagle cuda 168 on my 14' alumacraft I mounted it to the trolling motor. It is very reliable and for the money in my opinion can't be beat. If you have a little more to invest say about $100-$120 the Eagle Fishmark 320 is an excellent buy. My friend has one on his boat and the larger screen and better resolution is very nice.

    Default fishmark 320

i have a fishmark 320 on my ranger bass boat and it is probably one of the best that are not color or gps capable. It defines all the drops that I fish very well and you can see changes from grass to clean bottoms or schools of baitfish very good finder!

Also, as a second thought, if you are limited to where you can mount the base, both the cuda and the fishmark 320 also are available in a portable unit where you don't have to mount the base to the boat. Hope this helps

I have a fishmark 320 on my 175 alumacraft crappie pro boat and it really is a good unit and for the money you can't go wrong!!
