Thread: 10' or 12' for spider rigging

Never spider rigged before in my life. The more I sorted through the search posts the more confused I got. What length rods should I get for the front of the boat. I was thinking of getting the Crappie Wizards but Cracker68 says the HT rods are 25% cheaper and he thinks they are equal if I understood his post correctly.I am getting a couple of Driftmaster 250 rod holders. The spider rigging looks like fun.

I would use the 12 they will get you farther out infront of the trolling motor..I use 15

oldwun come up to douglas and we will show you how it is done or we might come down to your lake and you can show me & crazy your lake I will bring my boat we can fish 3 people with long rod two out the front one out the back-----booger1, don't no one jump on me for posting.

I like 12'. I have some 14' poles they are nice but can be a little bit of a pain sometimes.

the longer the better, but I dont think 12ft poles will present a problem for you. 14ft take a little bit to get used to, but i like them better

guide i know uses12 in deep and longer in shallow.

I use 16' WM 8 of them on my tite- lok pole holders. Love them

I use Crappie wizard rod 10.5' and love them.

I personably like at least 12's for the reason alot of time I will push 8 and pull 8 when fish are suspended. 10's will let the lines get into the trolling motor when your speed is around 1.2mph but I'm usualy pulling less than 1mph.
