    Default New.. help what fish finder to buy


    im lookin to buy a new fish finder wanting to spend 300 or less .. i do alot of drift fishing on KY lake .. but im workin on a spider rig setup for lake and to make some trips to the foot ... iv been lookin at this rig like to hear thoughs if its a good fish finder or what else i should look at buying ... http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...011&hasJS=true

    That's a good fishfinder. I don't know what to recomend because everybody likes something different. I have used a color screen on my dad's boat and if there is anyway I could I would get a color screen. The only thing about getting a color screen is that in your price range is that you are going give up on screen size. The quadra beam will show you alot of the bottom drift fishing though.

    thats been about the best lookin rig iv seen for the price color would be nice but iv got to get 4 12 polls so thats another 300 for spider rig .. so color will have to wait... i mormaly drift along 14-18 foot catch most my fish on drop off's ... when i get riged up for spider rig iv done some reading about drag chain on calm days i beleave drag chain and spider rig and stop on those drop offs would be make for good day ...

    Look one Ebay I've bought my last two off the net and saved money.

    Break down and buy you one of the Humminbird Side Imaging... I saved myself $200 on the my last one I bought...oh yea its a Side Imaging and I love it.

    The Fishmark 480 ($199)is An Excellent Unit. I Have One I Really Like. I Have Just Ordered A Hummingbird 575 W/quadrabeam($250) . It Was Highly Recommended. I Havent Gotten It Yet But I Have Heard Good Things About It. I Believe Both Will Be Good Units At A Reasonable Price.

    You need to shop around, The 575 w/ quad beam I got $192 shipped to my door.

    What's a good price on the loaded 797? I was looking on ebay and just a hair over 1030.00 was the best I saw. Does that include all of the good maps?

    I Probably Could Have Shopped Around And Got A 575 A Little Cheaper Bu Ti Wanted It Now. Lol I'm Not Good At Waiting When I Want Something And I Have The Money In My Pocket. I Guess Thats Why I Normally Dont Have More Than About $5.00. Lol

    I just went through the hassel of trying to find a 797 on ebay. Wound up getting this address from somewhere and it really helped. They had really good service. Best prices I could find and I had a fishing buddy who wanted one too, so I filled in the quote for multiple units and got a better price. Hope this helps.
