I would call the manage of the lake to get permission first on the TWRA lakes. Most have fish attractors for bank fisherman and may not want others?? Good luck.

so my lake that I live by is Kentucky lake but lately work has brought me into Memphis and I have fam here so this last winter I fished some in herb parsons and some other smaller twra lakes, my question is this.. is it legal to sink your own structure in these lakes like a small cedar tree for example I'd like to sink some smaller cedars in 15 or 20ft of depth in herb but don't wanna get into trouble, never had any problems at ky lake but idk how it works at these smaller lakes. any help I'd appreciate it thanks y'all

thats what I was thinking about, because there's very little open water structure in the lake I'm talking about but a lot of open 15 to 20 ft water just no cover I've caught decent crappie lol 10inches in there is good but if I had some brushpiles I'm sure I could catch alot more fish
I think there might be some fishing lakes in Shelby Forest Park??? Across into Ark to the south right across the MS River are several oxbow lakes. I know one is Horseshoe Lake. Not sure if it is private or public. Pull up Goggle Maps and you can see the blue water....Good luck.
yes sir there is a couple lakes in shelby forest the big one is relatively large and deep like 40ft or more when I was there last yr and horseshoe is public its actually a cool little oxbow lake I've fished it a couple times around this time of the yr the crappie aren't real big but they get into the cypress trees and I have fun fishing it I'm planning on going once all these storms pass and everything gets to normal again. haha I think I've been to every lake in this area big enough to put a boat into.
