After a long dry spell, for my boat that is. My youngest son and I returned to the water Saturday. I haven’t been out very much as of late. I had a “all hands on deck” situation going on for almost 2 years now. Thank you Jesus, the latest test results were amazing. I just had to remember what DK had shown me about locating my quarry. It came back to me quickly on our first and only spot that morning.
We did better than expected, we were in a delta area with a winding submerged creek channel meandering through the flat. We took several 12” crappie, 7 if I remember correctly. 3 hand size gills, 1 white bass and a couple of those pesky green fish trying to crash the party. We were set up on a bend in the creek channel that wrapped around a submerged point. In about 20-30 FOW. On the bottom I might add.
The best part of the day was time with my son. He has become a sponge when we are together. Taking in all that his generation is missing out on. Being distracted by all things electronic and social. Personal relationships are not out of style. And by the way, he landed his PB crappie this day, 12". They will get bigger.
