    Default Farm Ponds

Got a chance to fish a couple of farm ponds this weekend. I love to fish a good pond every now and then . Wasn’t a bad few hours . Caught a few . I used a Bobby Garland blue and chartreuse at first hoping to snag a few of the large bluegill but caught a small bass instead. About 1lb on 4 lb test on a ugly stick 4 foot rod combo that I have had for years . Then changed over to my 6 1/6 ft Bass Pro Quite cast rod combo and a 1/4 oz white/ pink spinner bate . Caught 2 more. Finished the day with a bluegill on a craw color curly tale gig . Had a great day . Do any of you fish farm ponds ? I fished these from the bank . Nice. But those bass look to be in bad shape. Real skinny and big head compared to body. Probably need to keep and clean a bunch of them skinny to give other ones a chance to put on some weight. Pond doesn’t have a good forage base.

I noticed that to X-ray and I also noticed that they had a type of worm in their fins and som bloody spots on their fins also . I told the farmer about it when I thanked him . The bluegill came from the second pond.
