It was a beautiful day that's for sure. Winds were light, water 49. Water in the bays was less muddy than the creek and main channel. I started fishing/scanning the drop to shore area, and several yards back, around points in a spawning bay made several casts and no results. Found lots of shad just no fish to speak of. Moved and checked other locations I thought may hold fish, nothing. My thinking was that they may be holding on the first drop off of spawning areas. Or so I thought. I did manage about 3 shorts and a green carp off a brush pile in about 14' of water close to the channel edge. Fish fell victim to Bone Head tackle Stump Bug, Paradise, 24th lite wire head. No pics, just a fishtale.![]()
