Mid April can be a boom or a bust depending on weather. Our average last frost date for this area is April 15th. Last year on April 16th we had a skiff of snow and some cold weather. Name: IMG_1356.jpg

Grass was green, trees were leafed our and the first wave of Crappie had already spawned out. If coming to Douglas in Mid April I would fish the banks in the backs of large creeks in brush and off the small rocky points 1/2 way to 3/4 way back in the large pockets. You will see the spider riggers and long liners in the mouths of the large creeks picking off pre and post spawn fish. Douglas can get very crowded that time of year because the Bass guys are also doing their thing. It is a long lake so the bite can be different depending on which end you fish but Mid April will be an excellent time to come down and fish.
