Rain, floods, and pestilence has been on tap this week. Although we haven’t had but about 3” locally, that has not been the case upstream. Truthfully, the lake was in better shape than I expected. It was stained (more than usual) and it was slightly higher. Several lines of floating logs, sticks, and whatever were encountered. The water temp had dropped...we saw 64-67. We ran out “milk run” in an area that we have not fished in a few weeks. We caught fish on all of them, but were inundated with dinks. Two keeper crappie were all we could muster today, and they were handed off to another boat that only had one in the box. Full moon, high water, or the fish just weren’t where we were. I did get into a cove full of bass, and caught one that was picture worthy. My faithful fishing partner got her a decent stripe, white, or whatever it is. Lots of fish were caught, but we returned with an empty livewell. Around 10:30, I was reminded why I usually don’t fish on weekends during warm weather. We left it to the fun pleasure crowd. It was good to get back out to scratch that fishing itch!Name: IMG_0274.jpg
