I caught these crappie while trolling crank baits in Lake Chickamauga. I have been using Bandits and Shad Raps in a wide range of colors - pink or chartreuse seem to be the two colors that got the most action. Water temperature is now in the upper 60's with a few spots hitting 71+degrees in the Harrison Bay area that I have been fishing. I have put in 4.5 hours of trolling over two trips and have put 20 keepers in the boat. Most of the keepers have been 12+ inches with two over 15 inches and I have only had 6 to toss back because they were short. The majority of the fish that I cleaned have spawned out already, but a few of them still had large egg sacs.

It is time to switch to late spring/early summer patterns - the shallow water/spawn bite is about over.

Have a great spring, JayW
