Finally made it to the lake this week, had high hopes of warmer water temperatures and bluegills up shallow looking for spawning grounds. Even doctored up a few trout magnets and bream bugs.

Went to a sheltered, pollen covered shallow cove/creek and found 67-69 water temps, not at all what I expected. No bluegill to be found, not even cruising the overhanging branches. With that water temp, I backed out to the mouth of the cove and targeted some lay downs.

Thump, the first of 17 nice males ate the Trout Magnet. Dipped in the Sauce, the Crappie just could not resist.

I tried one of the Tadpole baits that Ketchn uses and they liked it just as well. A very nice afternoon to fish, I gave 6 dudes a ride home in the live well and released a couple ladies that looked like they still had eggs. Largest fish was 11in.
