Thread: GPS Waypoint Phone Apps

Planning a trip to Reelfoot for April 2-6. First time on this lake. I picked up a lake map at Bass Pro Shops that has GPS Waypoints on it. Is there a user friendly phone app that a person can enter these points on to more easily navigate the lake? How are phone signals in this area? Maybe a handheld GPS would be what we need. Any thoughts? A Reelfoot water and fishing report would be appreciated also. Thanks

I'm heading up there Thursday afternoon I'll let you know what the water conditions are don't know much about GPS on phones but I'll let you know Lake conditions.

I have a garmin Oregon that is very nice to put waypoints in. I also use onXmaps app. You can get a 7 day free trial for onX to see if you like it.

GPS uses signals from multiple satellites to triangulate a position. Phones don't get these signals. Not that I am aware of.....

Phones get position from cell towers and such, not as accurate.

Tech may have outrun me, again!

I have an app on my phone called GPS essentials that works pretty well. It works on multiple satellites. Iv used it several times in the woods marking mushroom trees. All the trees will cause some loss of signal. I have only used it a couple times on the water just to see how well it works, Works great. I don;t use it for the fact I have gps on depth finder.

Reelfoot is a little high water dingy caught for Crappie this morning 17 ft water main basin 1.13 to + 12 + 11

Sorry about the voice text we were able to get a 13", two 12" and an 11" crappie in 18' of water in main basin two to three feet off the bottom on pink 1/8th Oz tube purple and chartreuse. Water was high and stained.water temp. 49
