Thanks for the report. I’ve never tried it before (I have floats on most of my rods), but my buddies who are long-time, experienced crappie fishermen swear that the best way to get your rod is to take one of the old metal, clip-type stringers, open all of the clips (maybe bend them out a bit), and drag it over the rod.
