Thread: Been seeing some crazy fish activity.

My lake that I love to fish has had me baffled this summer. It's a old oxbow and it's now infested with gar and Asian carp but I've still been going. Yesterday water temperature was 94 degrees and summertime it's just common knowledge to fish deep. But for some strange reason the fish are in 2-6 foot of water and I'm beginning to wonder if they are holding tight to the buck brush hidding from the gar. Anyone else seen this?

Probably since the water temps are so high, there's not a whole lot of oxygen in the deeper water. The "brush" may also be their only source of shade ... cooler water & camouflage ... or it might just be where the minners are hiding ... or you could be right that they're hiding from the gar. (or all of the above)

The good thing about it is .... you've figured out "where" they are, even if you haven't figured out "why" they are there.
