    Angry Fort Loudoun Report*

Got a late start due to work, so didn't get on the water until about 11:00. The water temp today was 71-73 wherever we went. I caught a good one right off, then had to hunt and peck. Honestly, I don't know if they have spawned, are spawning, or what's going on. I am still relatively new to this passion, but right now I don't know whether to wind my booty or scratch my watch! They are deep. The males are black. Plus, the wind was getting it. We ended up catching them on the main channel, any coves were nada. I am including a picture of a female's insides. Has she spawned?

Sorry! BTW, you would think that big female would weigh 2 lbs. Nope, 1.27. Buying a scale was the worst mistake ever! Makes fish shrink!

Still a nice fish! Throw the scales in a box and have fun.

It looks like most of the crappie have spawned up there, but there are always a few late spawners. Sometimes, the females will absorb the eggs that don't get dropped too.

I have heard that crappie may spawn more then once in a season. Looks like there might still be some eggs in her. Nice catch.
