I was told pretty much the same thing. The reason I asked is because I save fish till May and have a yearly church fish fry for the senior people. I'm sure it would be bad P R if the paper said they arrested me at the Church fish fry! Maybe i should ask for forgiveness tomorrow just in case!!!!!!!

You're fine. Only way you'd ever get your freezer searched is you were a known outlaw and then they'd still have to have a warrant.

Unless you are a licensed taxidermist in many states like KY. That license gives F&W the right to walk into my business and open my freezers any time they want with or without just cause. Probably applies to my home freezer also. I never keep any taxidermy to-do work anywhere but at my shop.

I don't have to worry about over the "possession" limit in my freezer because all my friends and family keep mine cleaned out.

Most states do not consider processed fish or game as part of your possession limit. Call TWRA and ask them what they consider as part of your possession limit. And don't ask the lady that answers the phone, ask for the person over rules and regs.

That's the way it is in KY, according to the KDFWR .... but, according to the link to FAQ's in my first reply, TWRA doesn't see it that way.

Interesting CP. I wonder how they justify the fish caught in other states?

TWRA sees it as Pappy says. However I have never heard of that happening to anyone except when someone violated the laws out in the field in an extreme way and they wanted to search the house of the offender.

I'm not sure, but I do believe we've had that very discussion on the site before. You might do a search (advanced search) and put in the search words "possession limit" ... then look for a thread from the Main Message forum, from some years back.

I wouldn't want to hi-jack this thread any more than we already have, unless others from Tenn were interested in comparing the possession limit laws.
