Thanks All, I took my boat out on Tuesday with a couple buddies. Oh my what a trip. Though I had check everything but forgot to check the trolling motor battery I guess. I charged them a while back and I did start the motor at the house with no problem. But once on the water at our first stop we had no trolling motor.Oh well guess I need to put myself up a checklist. So we were at the mercy of the wind and current which proved to be difficult so I hit a few coves and we did catch a mess of nice blue gills which my wife loves to eat.
While drifting I had my friend motor us back into a favorable position now and again. Suddenly the motor wouldn't start. I then went down to try it and nothing. We though the plug got fouled so we played with that for a while then found we were not getting spark at the plugs. Turns out my buddy Fred had accidentally hit the kill switch to the off position.
So after about 1 hour we were back up and running.
Still a good day on the water. First one this year. Hope the next one is less eventful and more productive. On the way back to the ramp I was told that Fred had backed over my other friends mailbox when they were leaving...hahaha
I charged the battery when I got home and the trolling motor worked. Will be taking the battery out and have it checked and get a new one if its even marginal. Its not easy being Tom![]()
