    Default Douglas Lake

Planning a trip to Douglas this spring. When is the best time to catch crappie? I have never fished Douglas but would like to try.
Been to Weiss Lake in Alabama a couple of times but both times it was "you should have been here last week" Any ideas on where to
try fishing first and when? Thanks

Douglas has the potential to be a should have been here last week lake. You can always fish Loudoun or Tellico if Douglas is tough. Watch this site the week before. If douglas reports go something like " feels like a parking lot " then its hot.

Nina creek, Indian Creek, and Muddy Creek are all good spots.

I live ON Douglas Lake. My favorite time for BIG crappie is LATE MARCH, but you can catch them ANYTIME, Any Season here. The only time I can't catch crappie is when the lake is iced over (like some of the coves are TODAY).
What is your PREFERED METHOD to fish for crappie? (tight line, floater fishing, trolling or spider rigging)?
Let me know and I can provide more DETAILED information.

We mostly tight line with minnows. Try some trolling but not that good at it.

There you go Larry. PM Rick anytime the lake isn't iced over and he'll put you on fish.
