I fished from 7:30 to 1:00 and ended up with a limit but, they were tough. They had moved from the location that I had caught them the day before but, only a short distance and in almost the same depth of water. There was only 2-3 crappie on each location to be caught at a time but, once I let any structure or depth contour "rest" for 30-45 minutes I could go back to it and catch a couple more. It was a "hunt and peck" kind of day.
On a side note.. I was checked by the game warden at the boat ramp and he was impressed with the size of some of the fish. He picked the smallest fish out of the live well, held the fish up, looked at me and then measured it. He said "this fish is 11" but, it looks tiny compared to these others" then he pulled out the biggest fish and asked "how long is this fish" to which I replied "I have no idea... it wouldn't go down in the crappie measurer". He laughed and then measured it.... just shy of 15".
lets go again LIKED above post
Congrats on a good catch.
You must have a separate freezer just for crappie! This was the same day I only caught 2 keepers. I saw the TWRA truck and trailer at the ramp. Good catch.....again!
Awesome day.
Very nice!!
Congrats, nice catch.
