What kind of flies do you guys use (Popeyes)? I don't like those small hooks. We pour and painted about 100 today and will tie them up later? What colors do you guys recommend?

I switched to plastics a few years ago and don't use many flies now. I pull them with boards and usually have a good mix of colors out to see what the crappie likes the best. Blue, white, chartreuse, orange and green were my go to colors when I used to use flies.

I use plastics when I troll. I wanted to try fly and minnow on a bobber. I tried it the other day and kept missing fish. So I thought a number 2 hook would work better.

The bite was very light and not aggressive at all. I'm not surprised you missed some fish, I know I missed several myself. I had a few that would hit and then be gone by the time I could pick the rod up. I like a #4 sickle hook for most applications myself.
