Lynn and I got to the barton springs about 12:30 in the afternoon. Launched and headed towards Rylie creek. Got to the island and the alarm went off on the motor, no water coming out. Shut it down and headed for the point. Figured we would troll around since the water pump was probably fried. Just got to the point and a thunder storm came up. Decided we better try and get back so started the motor and water was peeing out. Must have been trash or dirt dobber. Had not had the boat out in 4 weeks. Still not up to par but kept it cool. Loaded the boat back on the trailer and waited out the thunder storm. It only rained a little but there was thunder near by but never saw lightning. 45 minutes later we went back out. Caught a few near the bridge but after 30 minutes it began to rain pretty good. No thunder this time so we went under the bridge and waited it out. No fish under the bridge. 20 minutes later we went up Riley creek and fish the trees caught 1 spot.
Went towards the damn and caught a few more then it just quit. Left at 5:15. 1 spot 1 catfish 3 undersize bluegill and 4 undersize crappie. Fish caught from 8-15 ft down on minnows. Talked to some other people that had fished and were going out. All said the bite had been tough mostly spots being caught. One guy was going out night fishing. He had a lamp on a post sticking up about 8 ft in the air. It was kind of weird looking but I guess it works. He said he had only caught 3 the other night with no keepers but Woods was doing real good now.
Good Fishing guys.
