I have been catching in the trees and pads for the past 3 weeks. Grizzly jigs tipped with a crappie bite.

I use the Chartreuse color. I avoid the glitter ones as I always end up looking like I have been to a strip club

Do the nibbles make a big difference in catch numbers? Do think the color is the key or do you think its the scent? I mostly target shellcrackers with worms.

I think the nibbles help. Maybe not so much the color. I think it is that the scent or flavor seems to get them to hold the jig a bit longer giving you more time to set the hook. I am jigging with a long pole around trees with this set up so that little bit of time for the hook set really seems to do the trick. I have caught plenty on just jigs as well though.

Caught a lot of gills jigging pads with a grizzly jig tipped with a wax worm. Black jig with a red head.
