Default Good day on the Chick

Took my son out yesterday and trolled a few crank baits around the Harrison Bay area. Started a little later than I wanted, around 8:00. Was working 4 lines in about 20' fow. First strike hit one of the outside lines hard, when I grabbed it I knew it was one of those slimy, death rolling, blue cats. I wanted to muscle it to the boat for a quick release. I was pumping the rod pretty good and could feel it fighting back, then I saw the mouth surface- I told my son to get the net- We finally broke 16". My son was laughing and high fiving me. She was post spawn so she only weighed in at 1.75lb.
Caught about 30 total and kept 12, 11 to eat and 1 to hang on the wall. Had to leave around 2:00 due to heavy boat traffic. Unless you like getting sea sick from wake board boat waves or enjoy the relaxing sounds of jet skis and high powered bass boats, the Chick is a "no go" on weekends until the fall.Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398716633.624395.jpg

Good job there RR man. Should just get better with fish moving out of spawning areas back to bay before Davey jones locker! Don't forget me there now I'm retired and ready to troll the cranks. You know my number.

Congrats on the 16", what size was the smaller one? Good day for sure.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Nothing like some of those big ones to throw in the freezer with the others. Fun too! WTG
