Default Spawn will be here soon!

Well Folks, its gettin to be that time again. i know some of you havent slowed down a bit this winter but unfortunately school has had me locked down. Going to get back into the swing of things very shortly and could use a couple more slab catchers to go with. I fish Priest mostly and id be willing to share a few holes if i could learn a couple more! Ha. Anyways, Goodluck to everyone this year

I know Priest a little but am looking to get to know it better. I would be willing to show you Kentucky and Barkley as a trade off. Love to go to Priest for the numbers but Ky and Barkley have your size. Shoot me a pm and maybe we can work something out.

A lot of guys that dont fish all year will say thay are waiting for the dogwood to bloom...did it for years and missed some good fishing because of it.

Water temp is a better indicator. Any of the main feeder creeks will do well when they start good hitting any stickups or structure along the bank or shallows. Just before that does happen though hit the staging areas at the mouth of those feeder creeks.

We should be getting some warmer day time temps with sun so dont be stuck on fishing deep. Mid day try some of the shallower mud flats...water will be warmer in there and you may be surprised. Try a float and jig or just cast a 1/32 up to them.

Hope this helps ya out as far as just getting started, good luck

So can you help explain the float and jig. I've never tried that mainly just minnows on split float or tight lining. Is it literally like a crappie magnet on a jig head sitting under a slip float or is there a trick to its thks for the advice!

That's it, a jig under a float. I like to use the stick float instead of a slip float due to laying over on it's side for the fish that come up under the jig and push it upward instead of pulling it down or to the side. Easer to see with that type bobber.

Look for flats that had the most sun from sun up...be surprised how that warmer water will pull them in and the bait fish. Find the bait and you'll find the crappie. You'll also find yellow bellies in there but they eat good as well lol
