The wind laid down for perfect conditions and I thought it was really going to be good. Unfortunately the fish didn't care. With a water temp of 34-36 degrees they decided to stay in bed for the day. Got one decent fish and lost another at the boat. They were the only 2 bites I had all day.
We need a few days of warm sunshine to bring the lake up or 40 degrees before I head out again.

It does not look as if we will get any temps up enough to raise the water temp in the next 10 days. 11 for a low on Thursday night will make the water a little hard on the surface.

You got that right! Right now I'd settle for above freezing temps

Regular duck season closes Sunday January 26 and I'm not 100% certain but I think the youth hunt is the next weekend, Feb 1-2. I don't mind the water temp being 38, I just don't want to mess up those guys that are hunting. There's plenty of time to fish.

Thats why I havent been, dont wont to get in their way either even though you can fish south end and still be a long ways from any blinds. The weather is really main reason for me and with this last cold front lake is starting to ice up again. The weather forecast for the coming week may just lock it up pretty tight.
