    Default Woods Reservior March 2013

Was lucky enough to fish the past to weekends with Toby Ivey. He is a the club president of Middle Tennessee Crappie Club. And also a pretty darn good crappie fishermen. We fished the river channel there and just off of it the past two weekends. Fish were caught anywhere between 12-50 foot of water in or near the channel. Brush piles in or near the channel were the places to find good fish. But we caught 3-1 small fish to keeper fish. Weather on the 15th was in the 70's, sunny with 20 mile wind blowing. Weather on 23rd was 50's,cloudy, light winds, and a rain threat all day. Fish were still on the same pattern. We also caught some very nice white bass. Some we over 15 inch long. Very nice fish and they were hitting pretty good. Tried to stay away from them but would make some real fun fishing and fine table fare. Fish should start moving shallow soon as this weather pattern we have breaks.
    Good fishing to everyone.

I will add that chartuse jigs caught the most fish but they were hitting most any color. And minnows did make a difference for us on the 23rd.

The trips was my pleasure. We got lucky winning this tourney especially since I left my tackle box in truck, one depth finder never worked after it got wet on ride up there, trolling motor going to a slow crawl by mid morning because of a dead cell in one battery, and me losing 3 or 4 nice feeling fish due to coming unhooked. Also if the wind had of died comepletely, we would not of been able to drift any. As far as next month, surely the weather will have them in a spring pattern if it ever warms up. I aint sure its going to this year.lol Sure am ready for some warmer spring like weather here. Tired of seeing water temps at 47 degrees. Woods Reservoir, Tennessee Fishing Report - fishingnotes.com
