I’m a slow learner or maybe just hardheaded, probably both. I’m basically a deep brush fisherman. Always hearing about fish being shallow when I’m fishing deep. Gabowman is always gittin em shallow and making me jealous. I’ve started to look more shallow especially when it’s close to my brush. Yesterday I had success catching some on a point and and off the side of a long hump that’s way off shore. They were in 8-10 feet and were some of the most aggressive fish I found. I heard a guide say this week there is fish in 10-14 foot of water year round. Im slowly becoming a believer. My point is don’t get stuck in a rut fishing the same areas, brush or technique. When fishing Solo I try to do something different for one hour, sometimes it feels like a waste of time, but seldom is it a total waste. I usually find a new brush pile or eliminate water. Yesterday I found some shallow schools. Success in small steps creates confidence, maybe next time I’ll try a couple hours.
