You are welcome! Glad to met up with you and Lucas. I wasn't going to fish but Delbert told me he would go. Del had 23 perch, 1 bass, 1 crappie and two catfish to take the ride home with him. I just noticed in your picture you got lights on your boat in the back?

Got lucky and found a few keepers and a nice perch Tuesday evening. The perch was on a point near the channel about 15-20 ft down. The crappie and other small perch were on a brush pile about 6-10 ft down.

Nice catfish. Looks about half as big as your son. I KNOW he enjoyed that one. Back when my son was your son's age we fished ALOT. He loved it and to tell ya the truth I did too. Now my son is grown with his own family so work and family takes priority over fishing most of the time. We had good trips and not-so-good trips but I still cherish all the memories from them. I hope you and your son does the same. Keep him on the water and good luck to you guys.

Thanks, gabowman. He loves every bit of it. So do I. We go every chance we get. He's the reason I want to learn more than sitting on brush piles for crappie. I want to be able to pass that knowledge on to him.

Well try and read up on spider rigging. You can get into that without alot of cost. I did it with Walmart telescopic rods and those $3-$4 durango reels. Longlining is what I enjoy but to do it right you'd want a trolling motor with cruise control and autopilot. Those are fairly expensive. Lot of fun though.

Thanks, gabowman. I would be interested in both of those, but my current boat is too small for spider rigging, and my trolling motor isn't remote controlled. I plan on upgrading to a bigger boat as soon as I can find what I'm looking for. Longlining is something I want to learn, but I'd like to have someone on the water with me to speed up the learning curve. I feel that I can do that with my current setup, but it would be more challenging.
