Tom and I made an early run to Monticello today. Could have stayed in bed longer because most of the fish came after 10:30 but at least we got a few. We were headed to the upper end when we ran across The Old Fisherman himself coming down the lake. We sat in the middle of the lake and chatted for about 20 minutes. He said the fishing was slow too....(translation: he only had about 25 keepers and numerous throwbacks)
After he left, headed down from where we had just left, I allowed as how we probably didn't need to go up the lake. It was nearing 11 by then and we decided to hit a point we had caught fish on before. Tom got a nice double soon as we dropped down and the few I did catch came off that point.
Anyway it was a good morning as it is always when you get to spend it on the water with a good friend.
Here is a cooler shot of our fish:
And last but certainly least, once again I demonstrated my skill at hooking even the most elusive target. Close to my PB in the tiny category, and hooked in the mouth not snagged I might add.
