That red light is a genius idea to keep your night vision. I use head lamps with red lenses and it helps a lot. However I have been known to grab a crazy colored bait because I can't tell colors with the red light. I made a red light for my console grab rail but it's so low it blinds me. I need to do something like you did. Nice work.
