But I thought maybe I could give you SC guys a few tips, as I used to have a boat docked on lake wylie. I had a jon boat that was tied off to a pier in catawba creek for a few years. I'd fish the SC side alot as I would fish the big bay on the other side of seven oaks bridge.

I was(and still am) a big fan of eating white perch. A method that I used on wylie is also dynamite on the lake i'm fishing now(lake hickory)

All a fella needs to do is use a kastmaster spoon for weight. Above that spoon, tie 3 or so hooks(i use gold size 4 aberdeen) with surgeons loops. I keep the loops kind of small. Vertically jig this thing and hang on.... Fishing was never slow for me if I used that method. Bait your aberdeen with wigglers or swamp worms.

On top that rig, use a swivel. Best bait for the setup had been red wigglers or louisiana swamp worms, dyed chartreause with a product called worm glow. Since no local shops carried those kinds of worms, I just raised my own. See the live bait section, I just posted a detailed instructional on how to do your own worm beds.
