    Default A whole lotta lures

I know all of us has a lot of jigs, jig heads and crankbaits of all colors and sizes. I have quite a collection of striper plugs and I'd guess maybe 40 or so different kind of crappie jigs.
I went out on a charter boat last week for Salmon and Trout. Spoons are king in that type of fishing, here's one rack of spoons the owner had hanging up. He had another rack with just as many on and about 20 laying on a table in the middle of the boat. Almost all had some green on em.Name: IMG_2092.jpg

Wow, Interesting photo ! Never have fished with spoons.
Where were you and did y'all do any good ?
My dream is to try for Salmon, Trout, & Halibut in Alaska before I hang it up.

That is a load of spoons. Amazing how greens work in salt and fresh water.

We fished Lake Ontario out of Pulaski NY. Caught mostly brown trout but did have two keeper kings. Had a short steelhead and king and two short Atlantic salmon.Name: IMG_2087.jpg

I don't plan on smoking any of it. The owner of the place we stayed gave me a pack of smoked to try. I tried some smoked salmon jerky one time, it was expensive. I couldn't hardly eat,man it was rough. I have grilled some of the trout on the George foreman and you couldn't tell it from salmon,it was good. They are a pain to fillet though. The pin bones are a slow go to remove. I've fixed up some to fry also.

Looks like that charter boat Captain believes in his spoons like I do my jigs. Nice trip and report. Cool pictures.
