All the upstate rains, along with the ample local showers has Santee at full pool. That makes for good spring fishing, but tough conditions during this time of the year. The high waters give the fish that much more room and cover to hide in. But as they say, with a little time and a little patience you can figure a pattern out that will put a few fish in the live well. I singled pole jigged a variety of cover from brush piles, grass, lilies, stumps, logs, and lay downs to boat a couple of limit catches both Friday and Saturday. The bite was real sporadic, good for a while, then non existent, that good again, then back to dead. It was a game a patience that was a quite trying on the nerves, but the reward was a box of nice fish. Pink and chartreuse, with blue head was by far the best color.
