Wow! I thought Crappie fishermen were gentlemen! I thought only us Bass fishermen were aholes!
I was fishing a Thursday eve tournament a couple years ago on the river. I was working my way through some concrete riprap they had dumped off the top of the bank to keep the highway from washing away. Great place to pick up some Spots. This cat comes downriver from behind me, on the opposite side, then cuts directly across and pulls in front of me. I mean like my next cast in front of me. He's on the trolling motor just like I am. Has been following me for 30 min on the other side. I am coming to my favorite stretch and I am beyond mad. I threw down my finesse rig and picked up a buzzbait and started casting past him between him and the bank. Thing is he had his grandson with him, who I coached in baseball and is my sons age. I didn't wanna just blow up on him. After three or four casts he got the hint and motored on... At the weigh in I asked the director since I was fairly new at tournament fishing, what was an acceptable and respectable distance to pull in front of someone. The common answer was 100 yards or so. Some peoples kids....
Come on in boys! The water is fine!
