    Default Optima battery

I am looking at an Optima Dual purpose battery. It is $276 at local auto stores and also on Amazon. This same battery is listed at Cabelas for $219. Problem is the closest Cabelas is 60 miles away. Y'all know any other sellers that have good price on the Optima? I think the model is DFM34. It is the smaller of 3 in that type.

The little skiff I bought has space under the seat for a battery but it is not tall enough for any wet cell deep cycle. The AGM can be used in any position and I have to lay it on its side to fit. This particular one had the dimensions to fit and is more than adequate to crank the 9.9 Yamaha and run the trolling motor. I have a separate small battery under the center console to run DF, aerator, and accessories.

Ray, One possibility to investigate is you may be able to order online at Advance Auto Parts for a 20% savings (up to $50 max) and pick up at the store. That is if they carry the battery you want.

Only ones I see on Sam's website are Duracell ATM marine batteries. They probably would be OK but I can't find the dimensions for it. Someone also mentioned Cosco but I am not a member of either store.

Ray , Have you looked at the Oddessy batterys ? We use em in everything here at the shop. They come in a small version that is AGM. I got one in my mower and it is on it's side. Been working for over a year now. Aint sure on price but can get it at company cost if you want me to check.
