I found a 55HP 1997 Yamaha a couple of years back for $1800. Turned out to be one of the best deals I've run across. It was actually a left over Mariner that Yamaha re-branded after they discontinued the Mariner. It was a horse of a motor. I sold the boat it was on but it is still going strong. Good luck they are hard to find in that HP range.
