Nope Wylie, wateree, or santee cooper does not turnover. Your surface temps are going to be warmer but the rest of the water column are within a couple degrees. That's why you can catch fish sitting on the bottom in 40-50 foot year round.
Go to Murray in July, August and there is a severe thermocline and very little oxygen on the bottom and you won't find a fish below 60 foot in the big pool. Turnover is usually pretty rough as well for a week.

I have seen on my fishfinder a thermocline on Lake Wylie. But not every year.
So you are saying that rotten cabbage smell is not the thermocline it's ofishlbizzness! Well that explains part of the problem on Wylie but is that Uncle Remus on Wateree that we smell down there?![]()

I never knew the water doesn't turn over here on Wylie. I have smelled swamp gas here a couple of times and always thought it was the change taking place.
