The fishing was tough today, beat out a decent limit, but it took most of the day to do it. I was in search mode, checking several new areas for biting fish. Caught fish in most spots checked, but numbers of fish were hard to come by. Tommy and I fished near by each other in separate boats. He witnessed me do battle with another personal best, this time a catfish. She hit a trolled jig, it took 20 minutes to land her, and I found out I need a bigger net. She tipped the scales at 31 pounds, not bad for six pound test and a limber crappie pole. Big crappie on the day was a buck weighing 2.38 lbs.
The big cat.
