Default hwy 368 detour to crappiefest

For the folks coming from or through Anderson follow the detour signs into GA and turn left on Cokesbury Hwy then turn left on Saint James Rd,its easy to run by but don't make a panic stop just proceed to the next turn,it's the same rd.The next turn is to the right and it looks like a natural curve but now you're on Turner Rd,if you pass a Southern Natural Gas sign you're on the correct rd.When you come to the stop sign, you continue straight across Montevideo Rd along side the old store building on Cannery Rd.At the stop sign turn left on Rock Branch Rd.Go to the stop sign and turn left and proceed to the stop sign at 368.Go straight and you'll be on Ruckersville Rd,which the park is on.
I got this info off Map Quest, then drove it in both directions to check it out.I hope this helps somebody to get to the Crappiefest.I think if you put the park address in your GPS when you enter GA it should take you to the park, maybe by the same route.Ronnie has the address for the park. I'm sure the folks in Iva have a route picked out already.
For you folks who have been getting to the park from Hwy 72 nothing has changed, except maybe some fresh road kill that wasn't there last year.

Dave, have you rode over to Hopkin's store? The road is closed to replace a bridge PAST Hopkins so I dont know if it's cloed from the river bridge or from Hopkins. If you can drive directly to Hopkins you turn left onto Ruckerville Rd (which the park is on). If you havent rode over then I'll get over that way first of the week to see.

The road is closed at Pickens Creek, where the green house is.You can take a short detour around where they're working on the bridge, but it involves .7 Mile of gravel road. There are no blockade barriers except right at the bridge where they're working. The road is open from the river bridge to pickens creek, then from pickens creek to Hopkins store the road is open but there is no bridge over pickins creek or they're in the process of tearing it out,I haven't rode up to the bridge to see,but they have the barriers up at the creek.

Youre absolutely correct Dave. I got my bearings messed up. The bridge is out at the greenhouse. You will have to take the detour and come out at Hopkins. Then go down Ruckersville Rd to the park entrance.
