The shad run started in mid February at the tailrace canal at Monks Corner.

How about the ocean run Bluebacks? Are they at the tail race yet?

I do not personally know if the herring are there but I would think they are and it should be the middle of their run.
I base this on the locals there telling me that as a rule of thumb expect Shad in February (early to mid) and Herring in March.
We were there Feb 22 this year on a Shad fishing trip and the herring had not started.
