Ray I'm glad to hear you and your wife came and spent some time in Abbeville. A lot of history around the town and many things to see that are very interesting. My 5x great-grandfather came over from Scotland- Ireland in 1773 aboard the Lord Dunluce with the Kellswater congregation of the Irish Reformed Presbyterians. He had purchased 400 -acres a few miles out from Abbeville, as you can see I have long roots there and in the upstate of South Carolina.
I have always enjoyed spending time around the town and the country side close by visiting old homesteads and the old graveyards. You can't just stop and walk through the woods like I use to years ago to find things that was once there but still a lot to keep you busy for a weekend or more. Did you visit Burt-Stark Mansion, some interesting info there.
