    Default A perch / birds ?

The other day I was out perch hunting and following the birds some.
It turns out we get some big perch on to moving pretty fast, so......
Are the biggest perch up on top chasing the bait to the top?
If yes, then is the best way to catch them by trolling?

    Thanks

I catch tons of white perch trolling small crankbaits on a three way swivel with a jig. When I crappie and perch fish I almost exclusively long line troll. Year round. Just adjust speed and jig weight for depth. Another white perch killer are the mini umbrella rigs.

Brett, the big perch move up and down real quick. They will be up top, then down 30+ ft in a snap of a finger. Troll double 2.5 inch sassy shad rig, or an umbrella rig and you will clean house. Ive been thinking about trolling wylie sometime for perch, just hasnt been cold enough yet!

Any of the smaller cranks from acadamy work. H2o. Cheap and work great. They actually seem to out fish the rapala cranks. White!! If I want another color I just use a sharpie and color them. They don't make solid colors. Did I say white!!!
