    Default Wiley bait???

What size gizzard shad are in the lake? What's the majority of the bait size? Looking for medium size really, 8"-12". Not the small ones. You guys that catfish, are you catching medium to large shad? If you are, how large a population of them are there? Thanks in advance for any help.

Dont catfish a lot but some of the guys I work with do. They use mainly white perch as bait. Some of the kitty guys will chime in for ya.

The only thing I have found at Murray is herring. Great bait, but hard to keep alive even in a good tank.

Actually just looking to catch bait for my house to use later. I've got a couple large tanks with biofilters. Works great. I would like to catch as much as I can haul. Not gonna sale it. I was trying to decide if it was worth the trip from Greenville. Sorry. I should of been clearer.

Go to wateree for bait. Easy to castnet gizzards about dollar bill size right now. Early morning or late evenings you can spot them on the surface in the creeks and coves. There are a lot of small threadfin shad that you will have to weed through however.
