Thread: trolling rods?

I think the Southern crappie rods will do it all........but for long lining I run a 12' 10' 6' 6' out back on each side the 10 and 12 are pinnacle limits and I have had zero complaints.


For reels it's up to what ever suites your fancy, but I like the Shimano IX 1000, 12.99 at academy sports.

Butch and I use them and I think Ronnie has some too. At 4 for $60 from Grizzly Jig they are hard to beat. I have 8,10 and 12 foot ones. I have never had and issue with them. They are heavier than my B&M Crappie Jig poles and I would not recommend them for single pole jigging but for spider rigging or long lining they are fine.
The Southern Crappie rods are popular with the guys on here also. They cost a bit more than the Pinnacles but everyone that has them swear by them.
If you are coming to the Fall outing Sarurday, I will being a couple for you to look at. Let me know, cause we are using Sinkermakers rig and I was not planning to bring my rods.
