Incredible Morning on the Hill 10/16

I set out with a friend to try and catch some brushpile crappie around 8 this morning. The bite was slow but we caught a few crappie, including some nice ones. But then a slight breeze moved us off the brush, and I suddenly noticed some activity on the bottom in 17-18 ft of water. We lowered our minnows all the way down...and the result was epic...For the next 3 hrs, it was practically non-stop on the perch, along with the occasional hybrid or crappie. We used every minnow and then used the dead ones. Then we used the stiff ones that we found on the boat deck that had been there awhile! It's been a long time since I saw this kind of perch school, and it may be again. The tally after just 3 1/2 hrs was an incredible 140 fish....I do love Clarks Hill!
