Thanks for all the great comments, guys. I just wanted to add that when the last of the long dead minnows ran out, I did cut perch strips and use them. After catching 10 perch on the same strip, we decided that we should save some perch for next time. I tied on a small spoon but never got the chance to fish it. And the best news? My friend took them all, so I didn't have to clean any!
