Sorry the cats didn't respond but the white perch at least kept you busy! Thanks for the report. Remus hasn't posted our day yesterday so I am not going to jump the gun on him.

We fished for cats for a good while but only caught 1 channel cat. So, back to perch fishing. Tried several spots & we caught perch just about as fast as you could drop a gold spoon to the bottom. All were small to medium.
Total for 1/2 day was 1 bass, 1 cat & about 70 perch.
Hope to go again tomorrow.

Hey! Them perch are fun to catch. If I could just figure out a way that I could eat them. Way to go.
filet um roll um in house autry seafood breeder mix heat up oil to 350 degrees pitch um in it for few minuets roll um out and add a few hush-puppies little French fries
and some cold slaw big glass of iced tea and dig inif you don't like puppies fries and slaw just delete and add 2 nice filets in a slice of bread roll um up like a hot-dog with a little mayo == don't delete the ice tea == keep it to go with the perch -dog
maybe Thumper knows some other ways to eat um

What's wrong with them? Do they taste funny? I've got 2 big bags of fillets in the freezer! Oh Man!!
I'm old time Remus. When I came up we didn't know what a filet knife was. When I cook perch or bream, I just scale them, take the knife and make a couple of cuts across the sides, throw in the autrys black pepper and grease, when golden brown pull out the dorsal fin and the bottom fin and eat them like a ham sammich.
I also think I cook some of the best hush puppies around. I use autrys hush puppy with onion mix, I then add some fresh onion and bell pepper cut real fine. I have gone crazy before and added fine cut up fresh okra and shrimp. That's optional. The key is to use BEER instead of milk or water. Beer makes them cook up light and fluffy.
I've tried to eat them 3 or 4 times, they are too strong for me. I love crappie and catfish, eat them all the time, I want to eat the perch but just can't get that strong taste out of them. I been deep frying them with house autry , I also filleted them.

Soak them in some lemon juice. It helps take the strong flavor out. Fillet them and take skin off too! Soak them prior to cooking for about 10 minutes or longer. I cut the red meat out if they are big fillets.![]()
