    Default Ain't it nice!

Got tired of watching pro football this afternoon. Walked down to the dock with one rod and a small heddon sonic that is usually deadly on the perch. Hooked up with something big. 11 lb. blue cat. Hooked up again with another big fish but lost him at the dock. Another cat at least as big as the first one. Fileted the one I caught for supper tomorrow night. Walked out on the balcony with an adult beverage after dark and sat for about ten minutes. I GOT COLD!!! Can't believe they calling for 55 degs. tonight! Ain't it nice!!!

It's real nice!! Hey Thumper I was Siesta Cove today to go perch fishing with a buddy. Well you know when you plan something it never goes right. He wanted to dock fish and I didn't so we rode around a lot. lol Oh I found fish on my DF but he would question it. lol Long story short when we got back to Siesta Cove we saw some people that left out when we did in the morning and they had a cooler full of cats. Then I ran into a old high school friend and gave him my minnows. He showed me his cooler and I'm telling you he had some BIG perch!! Oh well their is always next time and I think I'll go by myself. LOL!!

I'm at the end of Beaver Creek in Hammock Bay. The fish are getting ready to go crazy. My problem is that we have to go to Anderson tomorrow to keep two of our grand boys while our daughter in law is out of town on business. Then Friday it's straight to N. Myrtle for SOS for a week. My goal is to be on the lake at least 12-15 days in October.

Thumper you need to save those sonic lures. They don't make them any more. May be worth something to you later on.

Dawgg, the heddon sonic is the best all round lure ever made in my opinion. I found out a while back that they quit making them. I went on e-bay and bought 12 assorted colors and sizes. I've had sonics in my tackle box since the fifties. As old and slow as I'm getting, they ought to last me a long time.

I know what you mean I had them all my life too! They are the best in the ponds. I've caught a many a big bass on them. I liked the Gray with the red gill line, it looks like a shad. I also used the bouy boogie same color. Makes me want to buy some more too! Good fishing to you.

The biggest bass I ever caught was on a red and white boogie. Old farm pond right outside of Clover. March 10th. It snowed two days later. I have pics of me wearing a field jacket it was so cold, holding a 10lb. 8 oz. bass. I had one on a few minutes later and got her right up to bank, got a good look at her and she pulled off. Probably was 13-14 pounds. That was many years ago! My favorite sonic is white with black spots.
