I'm going Saturday, hopefully these cooler temps will help the trolling bite.

If you want to get an idea what the temperature on Lake Thurmond is doing, Google "Lake Thurmond" then go to the official Corps site, usually the first thing that comes up. On the right hand side of the page, there is link labeled "Water Temperature". Click this and it shows a graph of conditions at the weather station at Plum Branch Yacht Club. It has air and water temperatures, wind, and lake level. The water temperature at this station has started to come down but it is still bouncing around the mid to low 80's.

Here is Wylie this a.m bout 6:30. 81.2 at dawn. 84 when I came in bout 11:30.
Beautiful morning on the water , or what is left of it . To bad only thing I could find hungry was also slimy ! Oh well nice morning anyway. The darker line on the rocks is normal water line. Looks like about a 3-4 ft. difference in the water now.

Thanks guys. Looks like these cooler temps have cooled the water surface some. Close to time to start checking new areas looking for bigger fish. Cant wait until Monday when my 3 days off begins. Good luck to all that fishes this weekend.

I had big plans to pull out the crappie gear for this weekend, but nothing came of it...I hope you are wearing them out this morning. It's overcast and cool...hopefully the recipe for a big catch!

Water temps this morning was 81.5*. I spent 3 hours riding and checking places for the future. It's places I've NEVER tried catching fish at and I think I saw some promising waters. Marked lots of fish and a good bit of bait too, but all that wanted to bite was spotted bass. I enjoyed the trip and it was a nice morning on the water. I still have a few honey-dos left before Sept. 12th but was able to knock out one of the BIG ones the rest of today. Tomorrow I hope to tackle another one then it'll all be downhill from there with just a couple minor jobs left to do. Unless something unplanned happens you could almost say "I'm sitting pretty" for deer season and fall/winter fishing.
