Here's an email form North State they are the people taking Wounded Warriors out fishing.
Please read and contact Terry is you have any fishing gear you can part with for a good cause.

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying the early-summer. A few updates this way: we have been asked to add the Town of Edenton (Albemarle Sound) to the 2016 Festivals schedule for early next spring. We have a few of you taking our Wounded Warriors and Disabled Veterans fishing one-on-one this summer (let me know if you would like to take someone out – they are asking); in a few weeks, the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission will be providing a “super- stocking” to the fish pond at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury for the patients to enjoy; at our deployed troops request, we are bringing back our SHARE Box care package program (there is a recent post on Facebox); we have begun planning for our NCCARES Christmas Box Project (1500 boxes to NC’s deployed troops) which kicks off September 1; and, we are in the planning and funding stages of our latest “national” project which will address providing our female Wounded Warriors some personal touches and services that they are requesting that currently aren’t being provided by other support services organizations. So, we are busy. We’re always looking for additional project volunteers - hint, hint, hint.

And, ONS could really use your help with our project to collect used rods and reels that are still in good shape with some new multi-purchase line loaded on the reels to provide to some of the Wounded Warriors and Disabled Veterans that we have befriended by way of the Top Shelf Fishin’ Festivals. They request fishing equipment quite often. So far, I have collected 18 rods/reels this spring. I would love to get this number up to 75 or more by the end of the summer. If you have one you would like to donate, let me know. There is no rush and we will worry later about the collection of the rods/reels - just looking for pledges at this time. Please post this request on the state and club fishing blogs – there is a rod/reel or two out there to a had.

As always, Thanks for your continued support!
Terry
